REI Brand Caribiner Question

This is a simple curiosity question. Does anyone know when REI manufactured their own carabiners? I got this carabiner as a part of a collection of gear I got last year. I've never seen one before and I can't find any information about the carabiner online. If you remember these things, I'd love to know when they were being made!

Early 2Ks if I remember correctly is when they stopped putting their name on biners.  Someone else was making them though.  For some reason I thought MSR was making them, but they stopped themselves before the 2Ks which was before my time.

REI used to sell carabiners with their names on them, but they never made them.  They had a reputable climbing gear manufacturer do it for them.  Some companies include SMC, MSR, Chouinard, and the carabiner in the photo is made by Omega Pacific.

It appears to pre-date the UIAA biner standard, so that may help narrow down the age.

I have a bunch of REI branded gear from the mid to late '90s.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
