First: this is silly. I don't even like the color pink, but in the 90s it was a thing.

My alpine draws, 14 of them, are equipped with "vintage" Petzl Spirit carabiners, all bought in 1994. I love this style of 'biner. The new version is ok (lighter!) but far less aestheticly pleasing (irrational, I know).

I have 13 *PINK* Petzl Spirits on the top end, and 14 silver Petzl Spirits on the bottom end.

The OCD part of me really, really wants that 14th pink Petzl Spirit carabiner.

Do you have one you'd sell me?

(I *had* 14 pink, but like a gumby I dropped one in Eldo, and I actually heard and saw a woman take it. She was excited to find a pink carabiner. *sigh*)

Believe me, I understand things like sentimental value.  I am right now considering repairing the zipper on my ancient Lowa Alpine Systems rucksack, which I received as a Christmas gift from my parents in high school lo, these many years ago.  That having been said, you don't want that biner back that you dropped anyway - better as an adornment on that lady's pack.   You drop hardware, you want to trash it unless it fell somewhere really soft, and didn't hit anything on the way down.

I have a couple... but I really like them. They go well with my aqua and purple Spirits. I'd sell one to you for $450 ...or best offer... though. Maybe. Or I'd trade for an Ushba nut tool.

Hey Muscrat,

First, thanks for the link.  Very interesting.  I am new back to climbing after a decade or more away, but before that climbed for 30 years.  That was something we were told when I learned back in the '70s, and which was backed at the time by my local mountain club, and others I respected.  Good to know that solid research has been done on the subject.

However, "silliness"?  Don't think that's called for, considering safety is the topic.  I'm new to the forum, and haven't seen  your many pearls of wisdom on the subject up to now.  My apologies.  I'll make sure and do several hours of research on any subject before posting again.

I'm not $450 sentimental. And I haven't any Ushba gear. :)

You could have just said your girlfriend wants one to hang her chalk bag off her harness and you'd have one in the mail by now.

If so pm me and we can work out a trade.

Looking for one that is pink or pink gate?

I have one like acmesalute's, except it is much more worn and scratched up.  I'll take photos if it's the best offer you've got.  I'll sell it for considerably less than $450.

I'm looking for the light blue bent gate biners if anybody has some of those to sell.

I also have an extra straight gate purple if that's what you mean by pink.

This is what y'all are talking about, right? I have a pair to sell. Please make me a reasonable offer.
