Hello wonderful people of the proj,

I'm heading to Lime Creek for the first time this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone here had some beta for camping in Lime Creek. The guidebook says there is plentiful dispersed camping all along the valley, but if anyone has any specific tips or tricks, I'd be much obliged. Also, are the mosquitos as bad as the book would lead me to believe?

Thank you in advance!

Just there sat. Bumpy road but there's 2-3 pull offs 3 miles in. I stopped there.

There are campsites right off the road below the cliffs. Not hard to find

I would expect the camping in the canyon to fill up quickly as there are really only 8 spots down there. The west spur is passable in a car, the east spur you can only get down to the first camp site in a regular car (truck will get you anywhere). you will see pull offs on the way in an FR 400 but I would try to get as close into the canyon as possible. There are a few spots up near the Harry's Gate Hut as well. There might be some campingon the south end of the canyone but I have never been over there. It is all pretty obvious if you are used to camping on USFS/BLM land.

There was zero mosquitoes last weekend.

I did bring bug spray just in case. I still would if I was you. It was a colder night so that could have impacted things. Great campfire weather though.

Follow up for this thread:

There is plentiful camping down the road in either direction in the immediate vicinity of Lime Creek. However, for those of you who are lucky enough to camp along the creek in the canyon proper, PLEASE pack out your sh*t or at least try and bury it properly! It is absolutely DISGUSTING to climb with the scent of human feces in your nose. Its not that hard guys. WAG bags are like $10. Keep these areas pure!

Totally agree man! We were walking down the west fork and some lady was there with here trowel barely in the woods. Seriously though pack it out!

P.S. I picked up 10 bags for under $40 last time.

None at all 3 weeks ago.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
