Shopping tip for REI

If an item is on sale online, and you are a member, sign into your account and put the item that is on sale in your shopping cart.  If you can't afford the item at that time, but you put it in your cart (not your wishlist), the item will still be available at the sale price even after the sale is over, as long as you kept it in your shopping cart.  Just found this out by chance and saved 50$+ on a rope that was on sale weeks ago, but couldn't afford at the time.  It is no longer on sale, but I had it in my cart at the sale price from weeks ago, and it stayed at the sale price.

Okay but what is the return policy of that item? Full refund? ; )

I'm sure you get what you paid for it, so if you bought it at the sale price, that's how much you'll get if you return it.

Did you get through the checkout process?

I've seen what you observed but it changed to the real current price on the screen where you review your order and pay.

That would a really interesting bit of info if rei doesn't notice until someone reads this thread.  I wish I did it during the Memorial Day sale.  But I'd assume that since you get a receipt, and it's easily traceable through you member account, you'd only get back what you paid.  Just like anywhere else

Went through the entire transaction, and it worked.
