What do I need to know about camping around Tieton?

I have been to the Royal Columns once as a day trip, so I basically know nothing about Tieton. But I would like to go check it out! I see a couple FS campgrounds on the map and some mention of dispersed camping, what's the best spot for climbers to camp? I will probably climb at The Bend to start.

And, is it a place where you need a Discover pass these days, or a Forest Pass?

It used to take a fish and wildlife sticker at the Bend and the Oak creek feeding station across the hiway from the Royal Columns.  We usually park on the road by Royal columns or Moon rocks and take the trail between them.  If the FS camps are open they are ok. Lots of dirt/gravel roads with hunters camp spots along them in the area, prolly better for in vehicle camping.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
