Camp Hale - Leadville

Our camping weekend got scratched due to snow, so now a group of friends got a cabin in Leadville and I'm looking for some climbing around. Camp Hale looks promising. Anyone say how the conditions are up there? Are the directions on MP easy enough to follow to get to the crags? Thinking Mule Train and Warriors Wall.

Thanks!

The crags are easy enough to spot up at Camp Hale, as you can see them from the highway. Conditions at Mule Train and Warrior's Wall are great. If it rains on Saturday, then Artillery Wall (6 bolted routes, 5.11b to 5.10c) would probably be the best option as it gets the most sun and dries out first.

Aspen Climbing Guides sells a guidebook for the area (it's really just a single laminated sheet of paper) that includes 60+ routes at Camp Hale.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
