Help me diagnose my elbow injury

I'll keep it short. Hard pop today in the medial anterior portion of the elbow, followed by 8/10 pain and minor swelling. Still waiting to see if it will bruise. Pain located very close to the bicep tendon and main muscle portion in the forearm.

Went for a simple dyno and came hanging down with all my dead weight on the one left arm that was completely out-stretched. Bicep feels fine, flexion and extension of the forearm is near perfect, but TWISTING of the wrist feels sharp shooting pain and weakness/fatigue. I've done the hook test to the bicep insertion points, and the bicep tendon (while a bit sore) doesn't seem to be the injured area.

Again, zero pain when extending or flexing the forearm. Zero pain when flexing or extending fingers. Massive pain when rotating wrist (turning clockwise on the left arm), and same effect when bringing the closed fist down towards the forearm (as if I were in an arm wrestling match, and grabbing the opponents hand to gain leverage).

So ya, would love to get some internet opinions from other climbers. Appreciate it

I don't remember asking if I should or should not see a doctor, in fact the title of my thread is "help me diagnose", but thanks. Don't have insurance, wanted to get a general idea before I paid out of pocket. But thanks for your contribution.

Tyler gave you good advice. Asking for an Internet diagnosis is like asking someone to read tea leaves for you.

Can't give you specific advice without doing special tests/manual muscle to narrow it down. Another elbow flexor that many people don't realize that is more heavily used in climbing is the brachialis (it is underneath the biceps). Other possible muscles involved since most of your pain is in pronation/supination (pronator teres and the supinator muscle). Do some research on those and see if you can recreate symptoms through manual muscle testing. Since you were in full extension you could have possibly sprained ligaments which is another topic. Rest is probably going to be your best option or find a friend of a friend that is a PT that will eval you (they are better for soft tissue injuries). I did that to confirm a labral tear suffered from. Hope that narrows it down for you.
