From an email I received from Geartrade on October 31:
"We're transitioning to a held consignment model. You send us your items, and we handle everything, from listing and photography to shipping. Sellers will no longer be able to list items directly on Geartrade; they must be shipped to us first."

That would have been nice for my most recent purchase. Seller posted a photo of the higher price version of the item, then sent me the cheaper version. They refused to refund the difference when I called them out on the deception. I don't blame GT for that; it was just a shtty seller.

As a buyer you will be better off for sure. I would be careful as a seller though, particularly one with anything of value sent to them. From my correspondence as recent as October, I am of the opinion that financially they have issues. If you sent them $1000 of merchandise, my concern would be that they could potentially bankrupt whilst your merch is in inventory. If they cannot afford to debug their website or make a $40 mis transaction via site bugs right for a buyer or seller to retain same, it is a red flag to say the least. It is a tough business and I just don't see how they are going to make it based on my experience.
