Evolv Cruzer for Skating

Recently rediscovered my first love: skateboarding.

I never liked the idea of the Evolv Cruzer for approach shoes but if they could get me to-and-from the post-work crag and allow me to assert my eternal youthful zeal by throwing down sick slappy grinds for the neighborhood kids, I'd wear them.

Anybody have any experience in the middle of the Venn Diagram that is my interests?

I haven't worn the cruzers so I wont be too much help, but I used to skate in those cheap vans. I would imagine that the cruzers will do just fine and probably hold up decently to wear. At the rate I used to skate I would blow holes in both shoes within 2 months, so cheap was usually better for me.

Are you talking technical skating, or cruising to the crag?

Both?! You missed of been good at skating switch. I'm jealous. Yeah, I spent about 12 years of my life exclusively wearing those old school black Vans with the white stripe.

As "technical" as one can be after a four year hiatus. Mostly mini ramps and waxed up curbs.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "good" at switch, but for some reason I learned to snowboard regular and skate goofy, so over time they just blended together.

Good luck with the cruzers! I think they'll hold up well.

I too love skating, but found the Evolv Cruzers aweful for it haha.
Its like skating in Toms but with sticky rubber. The sticky rubber is probably what throws it off the most though

That makes sense. I've been skating in my Boulder Xs and anything that involves an ollie is next to impossible.

5.10 aescents, although they'll wear fast. 5.10 Freeriders are also great and will wear out slower.

The rubber cap on cruzers doesn't fully cover my pinky toe. I'd blow those out in a couple days max.

Favorite shoe of all time, es accel. Mainly because I just wanted to be Tom Penny.

Yup. Watched Menikmati yesterday.

I wouldn't skate in the Cruzers, the material is pretty thin and you will blow them out quickly. Plus, I would think the sticky approach rubber would be too much grip when you want to move your feet around.

You would be much better off getting a pair of Vans or some cheap skate shoes that are made to handle the abuse of skating.
