We don't have bothy bags in the US of A. UKclimbing.com will have reviews and threads about the best ridiculously cramped shelters to stuff one's self into.
I use a Terra Nova Bothy 2. I forgot where I bought it from, but I always carry it in my pack in winter.

I use the terra nova ultralight 2 person. Do a fair amount of alpine stuff with my wife and it works well for quick lunch stops when the windchill is bad. Collects a fair amount of frost on the inside in just 20 mins of use, but is insanely warm for it's weight.
I frequently carry it as an alternative to an emergency bivy for summit day as it works for 2 people and it super light. Probably 1/3 the weight of 2 bivys.
Have only spent maybe 30 mins at a time in there and have to say it would suck to spend the night in there with 2, but it would probably keep you alive. Absolutely fantastic for 20 min stops though.
Have used for lunch when the ambient temp was -30 F with winds 20 to 30 mph and measured 70 F inside!! It was noon with a clear sky so the sun probably did a fair amount of the warming but was still super impressed!
