There are good tattoos, and there are climbing tattoos… but there are no good climbing tattoos

I like frogs. I like climbing.

The toad is a Southern Toad and the frog is a Cope's Gray Tree Frog. Both of them are indigenous to the southeast, where I grew up, so I've been catching them since I was a wee lad.

Beyond that it's pretty much just because it's fun and I think they're cute!

Also to get ahead of the MP brigade, I know the rope drag will be heinous for the tree frog, but that choice was made to make it a more aesthetic tattoo which I'm totally chill with because I can't remember the last time I saw a tree frog sport climbing

Well, because to an observer it doesn't make sense, like alot of tats  So it begs the question, are most tats intended to start a conversation?

Ah yes, I remember why I blocked you now haha

Anyway, to answer your question (and I can only speak for myself), I don't consider other people much when I get a tattoo. It's a very personal choice and some are more meaningful than others. I like having pretty artwork and/or mementos of moments in my life on my skin.

While I do love talking about tattoos in general and I will ready answer any questions about my own, I didn't get them for anyone else other than me.

Not everything is about you my guy

Hehe yea, not a "conversation starter", I know. Tats aren't for anyone else, they are for the tattooed to feel joy and don't require an explanation, I just think the explanation is usually interesting. Frogs + Climbing=Cool in this particular case.

Personally my combo tat would be cats rock climbing but I'm afraid of needles.

I don't have any tattoos, but I appreciate them. Even on the ladies. Since I moved to NM, I've never see so many ladies with neck tattoos and the like. Personally, I think the best tattoos are the ones that are not so obvious in terms of their meaning, but that need explanation, even if they are giant and cover lots of skin. The ladies I see with subtle tattoos make me want to question them about their tattoos. Only if we've breached a basic level of communication where it's appropriate, of course.

I have a couple of friends with the Ironman "Finisher" tat, now that is a conversation starter!

Actually, I have a better idea, cats and dogs climbing together. Cause cats and dogs hate each other, right? But we humans love cats and dogs and climbing, so by putting all three together we are bringing harmony to our personal universe. Cat would definitely be the lead climber, the dog belayor, or should it be the other way around?

Id eventually like to get a tattoo in the next few years so if I ever (god forbid) stop climbing ill be reminded of my roots
