Moving to Seattle and need some climbing partners!
|
Hey there. I am in the middle of moving to Seattle in a couple days and need to find some climbing buddies! I'm not sure yet which gym I'm going to join yet but figure once I check them both out I'll decide, but would love to get some opinions on here too. I don't really boulder much, mostly I sport climb, top rope, and follow trad. I haven't actually climbed much in the last 6 weeks due to other adventures, but I am starting to build a small trad rack and would love to find a partner who wouldn't mind doing some easy trad with me and teaching me a few things. Usually I climb in the 5.7-5.10 range with sport climbing (can lead 5.8s and follow 5.10s). I work 3 nights a week so that leaves me 4 days off to climb. When the weather gets better I definitely want to get outside as much as possible and would love to find others who are free on weekdays to get out climbing! Definitely hit me up and lets get out and climb :) |

Hey, welcome to Seattle! I doubt you'll have much trouble finding climbing partners but here's a few external resources that can help: |

Thanks for the info! I am definitely going to check out SG and VW but am already leaning towards joining VW cus it seems like they also have a bigger normal gym area (based on their website). I actually move into my apartment in the Greenwood area in 2 days and will be there til at least the end of May, maybe longer. I definitely haven't been to Vantage before, or any climbing spots in Washington yet and want to check out as many of them as I can while I'm here. I spent the last 6 months on travel nurse contracts in Oregon and mostly spent all my free time at Smith Rock. From what Ive read, Washington has way more trad areas than sport areas. Is that true? Cus I really want to learn to lead trad and just started investing in putting together a rack. So far Ive only ever followed/cleaned though and place pieces in cracks while on the ground haha |

Hi Alicia, |

Moved in to the area a year ago (exactly to the day). I'm looking for a partner weekend mornings, like early mornings (think alpine starts). I can lead if you can clean. I'd rather climb outside than inside especially since the sun is returning!! I can comfortably follow on multi pitch routes but I need practice to lead, mostly just need to spend more time in gear management. I'm generally a pleasant and dare I say Psyched climber...after coffee. there's two or three routes at Exit 38/farside I'd like to go after see my profile's to-do list ,maybe there's something there for you?
