ski buckle rivets, where can you get them?

I've got a pair of LS spectres that are self destructing. All the rivets that are the pivot point for the buckles are becoming un-peened, rendering the buckles and boots useless. Where can I find some new ones? hardwear store? Googling has turned up replacement buckles, but I'm not going to pay 30 bucks a buckle for a component that costs less than a penny.

I've used small t-nuts/screws for this. Parts numbers here: wildsnow.com/4715/dynafit-t…

Otherwise contact la sportiva or a good local shop and see what they can do.

As with pretty much every outdoors gear problem, your first point of contact should be with the manufacturer, in this case La Sportiva.

I just had amazing luck repressing the rivets on my TLT6's

Call around to ski boot companies (I used a Tecnica press) and see if they have a rivet press... so far mine are holding like new, and no need to drill/replace! :)

T-nuts are your friend. If you don't have any, a trip down to any bootfitter should fix that. Otherwise rivet it with whatever hardware store rivet fits.

La Sportiva customer service is phenomenally terrible, everything that I've sent into them has been held for at least a month, and then been returned unrepaired. Fantastic company if you're easy on your gear and have a super skinny forefoot (I have neither of those qualities).

Got some small screws and locknuts and fixed the buckles with that, took about half an hour and cost me a dollar. Tracking down a rivet press seemed like more of a hassle than it was worth. Psyched to trudge around the snow! Cheers everyone!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
