It's winter. Stop trolling the MP forums and replace your worn trigger wires.

Here's how I do it.

Tools:
Nice wire snips
Wire Strippers (if using coated wire)
Nicopress Swage tool "No. 17-BA" or equivalent
12" Rule
Hammer, vise and a small punch (only for WC Friends).

Consumables:
1/32" x 1/4 Compression Sleeves

1.25" 18Ga Flat Head Nails (Stainless) (19Ga if you can find it)

1/32" 1x7 Stainless wire rope (coated or not)
(I prefer coated wire for abrasion resistance and because it does not fray when cut).

For WC Friends start by punching the plastic studs out of the trigger. Use a hammer and a small punch. It seems to be basically impossible to push these out by other means. Wires can be removed by hand with most other makes.

Snip and remove the wires. Save the studs.

Lay out the cut components against the replacement components to gage the length of the new wire. In this case I will cut my wires to 5.25 inch. I like to write down this length in case I goof it and need to iterate.

If you're using coated wire, strip away 1/4" of the nylon. For WC, position stud on the center of the new wire.

Thread nail thru the cam lobe and into the compression sleeve. Bend the nail near the lobe. Thread wire rope through the trigger and join them together with the nicopress tool. Three compressions minimum per sleeve.

Tap the WC studs back into the trigger, or otherwise attach your new wires to your trigger.

You're done. Pull as hard as you can to test your swages. If you feel like you cut the wires incorrectly, do it again.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
