Three 10.5 Flash, two pairs of 8.5 Genesis, one 10.0 galaxy, one pair of 8.0 phoenix and one 9.4 Infinity.
Zero problems apart for a pretty fuzzy line from a bad scrub on one of the phoenix but the sheath held up.

Mammut rope is now made by Teufelberger in a Czech Republic factory.
This would explain why Mammut no longer makes the Tusk. That was my first rope; I bought it on clearance from REI and loved it. Alas, it was stolen by some douche-twat before I could put any serious mileage on it. I have since found another Tusk SuperDry and am guarding it with my life! All the ropes (toprope and lead) at my home gym are Mammut and I've climbed on them for over 3 years (some of them have been replaced due to high volume wear common to the gym scene). I also have an Edelrid 9.8mm x 70m that has served me quite well.

I have had 2 Mammut gravity ropes. They hold up super well with minimal fuzzing. Main complaint is that they get super stiff like a steel cable after use. Aside from this, they seem to last a long time.

My petzl rope still handles well despite getting super fuzzy.

Yo senders!

While it's true Mammut's 2017 ropes will now made in CZ (by Teufelberger), it's a bit of a stretch to make it sound as if some third-party is churning out different ropes than Mammut used to make. The actual machines and material Mammut has always used in its ropes were removed from the CH factory, shipped to CZ, and installed in a completely new part of the production facility there--same machines, same raw materials, Mammut employees from Switzerland doing QC to Mammut specs, etc.

All ropes in retail shops right now are still made in the CH. 2017 cords will start to be made by TB in CZ.

Regarding differing models: Mammut makes three "levels" of ropes: "classic," "protect," and "dry." These are all gradually more "treated" ropes, etc. So, you might get the same model rope, but in a different treatment/coating--and get differing results. Spend the cash on a "dry" rope and get better performance!

I have ZERO skin in the game for Mammut--I don't work for them, work with them, etc. I worked for a guy who was a Mammut athlete/guide service and got familiar with their products (and loved them)...but I work with another great rope manufacturer---Edelrid---now, so while I love Mammut, I'm not shilling for them! They're just great products and people, so thought I'd chime in regarding the CZ arrangement....

Long live the Mammoth! RC

The Genesis are arguably the best double ropes out. I've owned several brands and spoken with friends about others. I absolutely love my infinity 9.5 and can't imagine owning any other rope for my go to rope.

I reckon the Made in Czech Republic Mammut ropes should be hitting stores within a few weeks...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
