I am new to Dallas and unfortunately I injured by finger a couple months back so I can't rock climbing. Since rock climbing is out of the picture, I want to head out during thanksgiving break for some secluded and beautiful hiking and camping.
I have found a few places like colorado bend state park that look nice but I'm not sure if they are not just a one day hiking trip.
Please any suggestions and recommendations for an absolutely beautiful and full of activities place where to head this week is much appreciated.
The Wichita Wildlife Ref. is pretty hard to beat around here. The Ozark Highlands Trail should be pretty cool but I've never hiked it. I've climbed near it and there is plenty of traffic so must be pretty cool.
If you have the time I would highly suggest Big Bend National Park. Outside of your drive time but an amazing part of the planet. If you go down there check out Ft. Davis, Marfa (Planet Marfa) and Alpine to name a few worth a visit.
