Bouldering Hall near Lebanon, NH
Hey, |
There are three indoor places to climb/boulder. Green Mountain Climbing Center in Quechee VT vermontclimbing.com/quechee… ; River Valley Club in Centera Park rivervalleyclub.com/ ; and a gym at Dartmouth (54 Tuck Mall). |
My Hotel is near to the River Valley Club, so I was there the last time. But this is not really nice to do some bouldering (without having someone to belay). Do you know if one of the other two has a boulder area? |

None of those gyms (what we call them in the US)are really great for bouldering (well, I don't know about the one at Dartmouth so that could be OK). Further away, in Concord--about an hour's drive, Evolution is a good gym--the bouldering is somewhat limited but OK--and it is usually easy to find partners for roped climbing. However late October is an excellent time for outdoor climbing in New England--as long as it doesn't rain and Rumney--the best sport climbing area in the region, is less than an hour's drive from Lebanon. |

The Dartmouth gym is all bouldering - very old school - angular plywood walls. there is also local outdoor bouldering scattered around - Etna, up by the Skiway etc. You could stop by the Outing Club and try and get beta. |

Dartmouth gym is 100% bouldering and frankly for being an oldschool gym, I think its pretty awesome. Has a lot of really good features and shapes to the walls. Lots of roofs and overhang and a bridge type features. Very worth going there. May be a little awkward if you're not around college age though. |
