Need to stash my luggage downtown

So I'm flying into DIA early Sunday morning and taking the train downtown. Going to hang out downtown till my friend gets into town with a car mid afternoon. Any ideas what I can do with luggage so I'm not dragging it around downtown for 6 hours?

Find a cool person who lives close to downtown and will be home and ask nicely to stash it at their apartment.

A bit outdated, but maybe some ideas here:

Greyhound station huh? I swore of the Greyhound after spending 53 hours on one getting from OR to MN, but maybe I could stomach just being in the station for a few minutes. Thanks for the advice!

What's the closest to Union Station?

The closest gym that I know of to Union would be Movement Denver, and it would not a be short walk.
The Greyhound station in Denver doesn't have terribly large lockers, so this may depend on the size of your bag. A few years ago when I was passing through I ended up just carrying my 90L backpack full of stuff with me because it wouldn't fit in the lockers.
Wilderness Exchange is within walking distance of Union and they require you leave a bag with them when you go into the store, they may be willing to stash your bag for a few hours. No guarantee on that, but an option if you can't find anything else. They are only open 10am-6pm on Sundays, so you may have to wait around a bit or pick it up early depending on when you get there and will be leaving.

Hotel is by a great option--there are many downtown. No one will know you aren't a guest.

There is a luggage storage service a short one minute walk from Union Station in downtown Denver - LUGDEN. You can make a reservation online - lugden.com, call - (303) 747-5600, or show up as a walk-in. They offer hourly, day, overnight and weekly bag storage. Great place to store your luggage if you're on a layover from Denver International Airport, or going to a concert, or headed to a Rockies game at Coors field and want to enjoy yourself without having to lug your bags around.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
