Anyone using the Salewa Pro Gaiter boots?...if so, how do you like them? Likes,...dislikes? Issues,.. Praises?

I bought the version without the gaiters and liked them a lot for ice. I had no problem with the key hole stripping. If it ever had ice in it I just cleaned it with a tap or two with my ice pick.

I ended up replacing them cu they weren't warm enough for me. I was looking for light boot I could use for ice. A trip up a CO 14er in January convinced me I needed something warmer. Again mine didn't have the built in fairer so that'll help. Plus I sized them a little snug aiming for more precision.

Great boot though and switch between walk and climb was actually really nice.

I love mine!! The half shank adjustment feature has allowed my to leave behind other shoes on longer mountaineering trips

Cool guys,.. much appreciated feedback.

What footbeds are you guys using in them?
Anyone have issues with a little bit of heel slip?

I have the Pro Guides and like them a lot. I use a green Superfeet insole in them, too.

I have a pair of Salewa Pro Gaiters for sale if anybody is interested. Used but with plenty of life left in them. $225 plus shipping.

I think that the hex bolt used to convert from walk to climb is a potential point of weakness but will last if you are careful. I filed down one of the ends of the hex key that came with the boot to make a point to clean ice out of the hole before inserting the other end. I will include this hex key with the boots.

I have a pair for sale ($250) or trade for 44.5s that are just a half size too small for me. They are 44s. Only been used maybe 3-4 times.

The boots I have for sale are US Men's size 10. For some strange reason they don't have a Euro size printed on them. I would say they fit similar to a Sportiva boot in 43.5.

I'd still very much like to sell them if somebody is interested.

I would also consider a trade or partial trade for something else. I'm interested in a pair of Sportiva Trango EVO S (the red boot) in size 44 or similar.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
