Hi,

You know how sometimes you sleep on a pull out couch bed and that annoying-as-hell bar digs into your back? Well, I'm curios to know if this phenomenon occurs with the Metolius Bomb Shelter Doubler Portaledge.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Nope. The spreader bar arcs away from the bed surface. See pic.

Nope, but I can tell you the spreader bar is not easy to install when the ledge is on the side of the wall.

Most definitely agree. Go with the fish - it's slightly narrower, but superior in every other way. Best double on the market!

Never used the bomb shelter, but the spreader bar on the BD doesn't even come close.
I'd love to hear tips from everyone re: setup on the wall.... I just used mine for the first time. I ended up building mine on the ground and flagged it, then I hauled it up. What a PITA. How do you guys deal with it at the anchor?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
