I went up the route in January, the snow was insane. We were post-holling the entire way, even with shoes.
The ledges were knee deep in snow and difficult to traverse, but easy to find.
I ended up having to rescue an ill-equipped guy from Lower Boyscout Lake and take him back to the trailhead, so we didn't get past that, but no groups did.
I know a few groups that have tried a few times since, and have not succeeded.
A group and I are doing the regular trail in April with crampons and ice axes.
