My Mountain Hardwear Nitrous down hoodie fits over the helmet, which seems status quo. The Arcteryx Cerium hoodie is in-helmet, and def kept my dome warm when Intried it on at REI It would seem like over the helmet down hoods would be better for active heat release, but the snug down hood felt good under the helmet. Anyone have a Cerium and some experience using it in high activity alpine?

Do you like taking your helmet off when you want to lower your hood? Hoods under your helmet suck.

If your hood fits over your helmet, you can put your hood up or down with one hand in about 1 second. If not, you have to take off your helmet, change your hood, and put your helmet back on, all without dropping your helmet, and probably requiring two hands. In my experience, if your hood doesn't fit over your helmet you may as well not have a hood. (for the purpose of climbing).
