Are hip belts in backpacks interchangeable? Details in text
|
So REI has a huge overstock sale and they have the Mountain Hardwear Lightweight Hipbelt for cheap. I have an Osprey Aether 70L backpack and was wondering if I could use the Mountain Hardwear hipbelt in the Osprey backpack? Will it fit or is it a different size/shape? |
|
I'd say that you have to try it out. or call REI. |

No. Hip belts between different companies likely never be interchangeable. Call Osprey, their customer service will sell their hipbelts separately. |

If its a size issue, and you bought the pack at rei just go in and tell them you need a different hipbelt, they will return the one on your pack now and give you a different one for free. |

The hipbelt unclips, it seems to be removable. |

REI packs tend to use Velcro whereas osprey has clips. they wont be interchangeable but REI does carry REI, Osprey and Gregory Hip belts. It's possible to have a long torso and a narrow waist. So you would get a Large pack and a small or Med hipbelt. |
