Various shower options found around RMP. They are:
Rifle public pool: $2 gets you a cold shower in an open stall. Bleh.
Winchester Motel (in Rifle): $10 to shower in a hotel room. Expensive, but real nice.
Elk Creek Campground (on the way to New Castle): The official policy on this one seems to change year to year, but usually you can go to the camground office and pay for a shower. $3 or $4, or whatever it is this season. Very nice hot shower in the campground bathroom/shower area, which is usually nice and clean. This is the best shower option for the money, but you have to go to New Castle for you town/shower needs (a bit farther than Rifle town, but generally nicer a nicer town anyway, so probably worth it).
Rifle Gap State Park: Closest showers to the canyon. Go to the campground bathroom/shower building. Coin showers, usually a good hot temperature. A nice long shower will be around $3. The one catch is that you need a CO state park pass to get in legally. This was my preferred location if/when I had an up-to-date state park pass on my vehicle; location was the main motivator.
The gym in Rifle: I forget the name; is is on the back side of the building just left of the Walmart. $5 gets you a shower in the gym locker room. I always found the locker room a bit groty, but the shower is good enough. This is the best in-town option in Rifle if you don't wan't to shell out for a Winchester.
Swim in the creek: There are various swimming holes in the canyon. Best one is just downstream of the Wasteland bridge. This will keep you clean between town trips, but that water sure is cold...
Overall, Elk Creek Campground is the shower I most recommend.
Just tried the gym in Rifle (Rocky Mountain Muscle) on a Sunday - apparently got lucky and Justin (I think the owner) was there who let me shower for $5. But he was confused when I asked about it so doesn't appear to be a set policy of theirs - just fair warning in case this doesn't work for you, especially during non 8-5 weekday hours. Shower itself was quite nice though imo.
