Over the last year I have struggled with a tendon strain on my middle finger. Resting only proved re-injury. I was already doing yoga, thera-cane and Arm-Aid and had hit a plateau in my recovery. But after just a few months of using MELT Method a few nights a week (combined with the above mentioned stuff) and gentle, open-handed hang board work, my finger feels amazing! I'm back to crimping and back to knocking on the door of 5.12. Thought the community should know, in case it could help anyone else, so I wrote an article about it.
That's cool John! I'm finding the MELT hand treatment needs to be mixed with lying on a roller and stretching both arms out from the midline with extended palms, like stop signs. Then keeping palms flexed I do both internal and external rotation, going slow and really spreading out through fingers. Then I turn fingers towards wrists, palms down and do the same thing. That reaching from the center of the chest out into the hands makes a huge difference but I have to stay on top of it, like 3x times a week minimum!
