So I recently realized that I have acquired quite a few backpacks, and I use them all. But between my wife and I we have 7 or 8 packs that range from 65L backpacking packs to small 20L day packs. My issue over the years is how to most efficiently store them all. For a while I would put the smallest pack into the next size pack until I had them all stuffed into the largest one. That worked great until I needed the middle sized bag and pulled them all out, used the bag, and it just never gets put back into order. Right now I just have them all laying in a pile under the counter with all my climbing gear but I feel there is a better way to store them so I can use that space for something else. How does everyone else solve this problem? I would love to see pictures if you have any. My thought was to hang them somehow but I dont know if thats the best way. Thanks for the help and advice. photocodo

Put a carabiner on the handle of each and hang it up on a coat-bar-thingy in a closet.

Under the bed works pretty well.

I went a little lower rent than nathan. Two decent screws into studs with enough space between for hanging. Tie a cord off between them. Kids mini-biners on each pack handle. Snap the biners onto the cord. Problem solved.

Clothes hangers through the haul loop, hang them in the closet. Save the carabiners for climbing. If you've got the wall space, hooks screwed into the studs would keep them visible and accessible, and would make for a really cool looking gear room. 7 or 8 packs sounds pretty reasonable for two people.

I put up a tension rod in my laundry room (my lease won't allow installing a real one..), and hang all my backpacks from metal S hooks on the rod. If it's a smaller backpack, a regular coat hanger works, too. I just put the top hook part through the top webbing loop on the bag. They all hang there like coats, easy to see what you have and access each, and easy to find the rotten banana I definitely forgot about in the bottom of one. Ski coats and midlayers are hanging there too. I hang my climbing rack on another tension rod right next to it, though carabiners weren't large enough to clip to the rod- so I tied a bunch of hitches in cordallete to the rod, and clip gear to the cord.
