Looking at the Tatramar, Splide, and Base Jump Touring. Potentially buying sight unseen. Looking for feedback.

I went from Mammut Eisfield Pants to Black Diamond Dawn Patrol Approach Pants and I'm glad I did. They're both Schoeller material, but the BD's are better made (IMHO) & don't pile. I'm not a fan of that Schoeller DrySkin material.

I wasn't impressed with a $350 pair of soft-shell pants that piled and attracted snow like Velcro. If your not dead-set on the Mammut's, I'd take a look at Black Diamond. Not trying to rag on Mammut, they make great gear. I've owned several other pieces from Mammut that I've loved over the years & have been very happy with them.

I agree with Christopher, I was looking at getting the Mammut Eisfeld pant but heard too many bad reviews (mainly about piling) to justify spending that much money on them. I went with the Dawn Patrol Touring Pant and could not be happier so far. I cant speak much to the longevity (just got them this season) but my first impressions are that they should last a while as they seem to be quality.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
