Personally I would say no. If anyone has other opinions feel free to add them.
The reason I say no is Maple Canyon is a series of essentially slot canyons if you have never been.
Many of the walls receive VERY LITTLE sunlight so early in the year. I have been there in middle/ late April and night time lows were below freezing and we chased the sun all day trying to maintain sensation in our fingers.
If you climb Trad, (Which we all know Trad is Rad) the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon outside of Salt Lake City boasts some amazing south facing granite cracks and slabs, provided it isn't snowing while your there.
I was there last weekend and had a good time. walked alot though. I believe the gate is still closed at that time. You would most likely have to walk in and as kyler mentioned, you'll be chasing sun all day, the canyon stays quite cold, There are a few walls that would be awesome at that time, but I'd go further North, BCC, LCC, Rock canyon.
Looks like I'll be chasing warmth and heading south this year! Thanks for getting back to me. I definitely want to get out there at some point though. Looks fun and different.
I have been hearing lots of good things coming out of Moab and Red Rocks and other Southern Utah places as of recently
If you are really set on climbing in Maple at some point in the year or your life you definitely should. It is an amazing place to climb with enough routes to occupy any ability level for many trips there. I prefer to go there when its the summer and too hot to climb elsewhere as the shade is plentiful and the rocks stay cool for a long time.
Watch out for falling cobble stones, I nearly got clobbered by a melon sized one last year!
