I just read an article on US psicobloc locations, and I'm interested in checking out the Devil's Punchbowl at Independence Pass. Does anyone know of a place to find information on the approximate difficulty of the different climbs? I tried searching on MP.com and couldn't find anything...

Summitpost has this:

Now the Devil has two thumbs, one in Boulder and the other all the way over in the Indian Peaks. I think his backbone is somewhere close by, too. If you are searching for this punch bowl of his, I would be on the lookout for the Devil's turd, which has been known to float in said bowl.

His backbone is in Loveland :-) I'll watch out for the turds.

I was looking more for climbing route info, since the article I linked was about deep water soloing, but thanks for the reply anyway.

Devils punchbowl is good for cliff diving and not much else this time of year. The route listed here as Aquaman was a pile. The best DWS in my opinion in the area is called Welcome to the Wonderful World of Entertainment...its not listed on the MP database but you can find a video for it on Vimeo. If you drive down the lincoln creek road for about 3 miles you will come to this sweet punchbowl where the route is found. It is definitely a 4wd road so be prepared for that.

It is listed on the video as 5.11 ish but didnt feel quite that hard.

Have fun...the area is amazing.

You mean the water's too high right now, or what?

There is a route here listed as Aquaman and the water was too high a few weeks ago to get onto the route. Maybe it gets better as the water level goes down. I personally think the route at Lincoln Creek was much better quality than anything at the punchbowls.

Cool, thanks again.
