Pay it forward request
|
I oversee (for free) a climbing wall in a small Appalachian town recreation center – it’s a multi purpose center and the wall is only open Thursday evenings. The fees for use are $2 for adults and $1 for kids. It’s an area with very low incomes – the center is to help keep kids off the streets and out of trouble. We have harnesses but only a very few pair of climbing shoes that people have donated. We could use climbing shoes in any size and any condition short of in pieces - I can do a little glue work to them. If you have climbing shoes that are too worn out for you, or that your kids have out grown etc – these kids could still get some good out of them. So if you’d like to help some kids learn to climb and do a “Pay it forward” good deed – your help would be appreciated. |

Drop me a PM and I’ll give you shipping information - oh yeah - that's the good deed part - you pay the shipping. :)Hey Chris, which town? I have one pair and an ATC I can turn over. Might be able to do a lot better than that if I gather stuff from the local crew. How are you set on harnesses? I'm in Richmond, VA now and grew up in Hburg. |

Here's the information |

I'll send a few pairs pronto, thanks for the volunteer work Chris! |

Do you want adult shoes too? |
|
We get all ages from 2 year olds to 72 year olds (oldest and youngest so far)- so any and all sizes can be used. At present we have 4 or 5 pair of all size 9s. It was a fairly slow night tonight and we had 23 climbers of all ages - mostly teenagers tonight (a play at the grade school was going on). So short answer is yes - adult sizes will be used too. |

Thanks for your service.Awesome - some kid or another always has their hand in mine - I have one young girl that just takes it from me and climbs with it - hilarious!
