Ok I know there are a thousand finger pain threads, but this finger pain is weird. I have pain in the tip of my right index finger. I mean the very tip and the skin is not broken and it is a very different kind of pain than I have ever experienced. It doesn’t hurt on top of the finger and it is a bit swollen but no signs of a bruise. The finger has full mobility and no other part hurts. I have had the traditional finger injuries in the past and this is not like that SOOOOO. Anybody ever heard of something liken this? I’ll add I did climb yesterday and kept ripping off a hold with my hand, but it didn’t hurt until this morning. Any help would be cool. Ps I’m pretty sure it will be fine, but I’m curious

Possibly crushed a digital nerve. Is it a burning or electrical pain? Does it hurt worse when lightly stroking your finger tip vice pressure? Peripheral nerves usually do regenerate themselves so it will likley get better if that is indeed the culprit. Other possibility is soft tissue damage in the pulp of your finger. Suck it up for a week or two and if it doesn't get better go see your doc. Go sooner if redness, swelling, worse pain, new symptoms.

Kind of an aching pain only when you put pressure on it. No pain if you lightly stroke it. More annoying than anything.

Sometimes I get similar pains, I've always written it off as soft tissue damage, such as from grabbing small, sharp crimps. Mine usually subsides in 2 to 4 days. Hydrate well, sand your calluses, wait it out.

I have been getting a very similar pain, off and on, in my right index and middle fingers. I think that mine might have something to do with overthickening and drying of the callus on the tip of the fiinger; it feels like the pain is in the skin. I have found that filing down the skin on the painful fingertip helps a lot.

My right ring finger has been hurting for years. I smashed it in a door years ago and it has never stopped. The finger nail has a gap between it and the skin that has never healed from it and the final joint has a knot in it that has never healed. I have thought about pulling the entire finger nail off and see if it heals back properly but I have dealt with it for so many years I decided to just leave it alone and go on with my life.

My wife had a laser treatment 2 days ago, right overtop of her sternum to try and close up an enlarged pore. Now she is getting stabbing sharp pains in her finger tips, randomly, and tonight she had some of those pains start in her toes. She said it feels like a splinter being stuck under her finger nails but its very random and sporadic. did anyone else on her have laser treatments for anything?

Im am not too avid of a climber as in a teenager but I have still free climbed a few 30 to 50 rock crevices. I’ve been searching for a while to find an explanation and a possible fix to the wierd pain in my finger. I haven’t climbed in a while and I have a messed up phone screen but it’s not so messed up as to give me a micro cut. It’s a pain in my thumb that feels like someone stuck a reeeeaaaalllllly tiny needle in my thumb. It is a very exact pain, it’s sharp without a throb, itching, burning, or spark like sensation. It just randomly happened. So if you have any idea what caused this I would love to know how to fix it
