Sizing and experience w/ Tenaya shoes?

I'm looking into getting a pair of Tenaya shoes and am looking for any personal experience you may have. Obviously they're endorsed by some pretty amazing climbers so they must be pretty decent shoes.

For sizing are they fairly similar to Sportiva?

Any help would be much appreciated!

The pairs I am looking at:

Tatanka

Inti

The construction is similar to the Masai in that the main shoe material is microfiber with a TXT coated cotton lining. The toe and arch profile is aggressive and the performance very good, I found the toe profile performed in all climbing situations tested from Grit bouldering through to Lakes trad with some Limestone sport thrown in for good measure.

I wear a size 38.5 in La Sportiva, which for me translates to a 39.5 Tatanka. I also have a size 40 Ra, but I could also get into a 39.5 Ra. I went with the bigger size beacuase I wasn't looking for an aggressive fit. In the end I found I could climb all day trad routes in the slightly larger Ra, but they still performed really well on hard sport routes.

Hope that helps....

Great shoes. I had a pair of Ra but there little rubber strap in the front would pinch the top of my toes, I think they have since moved the strap to a higher position so it wouldn't do that. They felt very similar to 5.10 Anasazis and sized up the same too.

I always have to size way down in La Sport shoes, I would get the Tenya in at least a half size bigger.

I really appreciate the answers. There isn't really any place that I can put them on so your feedback is great.

Thanks a ton!

Any more feedback on Tenaya Tatanka sizing out there?

Oasi is about a half size (US) smaller than most others. I'm 10.5 in butora, evolv, and sportiva. But a fairly comfy 10 in Tenaya(could climb in 9.5 easy). From what I've heard it's pretty similar across the Tenaya line.

Contact them on the phone - they were spot on when I talked to them and told them what I already owned - they hit it right on with both an all day Masai and an indoor Iati first try.

Thanks for the feedback everyone I'm unable to try them on so everything helps.

I have exact size 11.5 feet on a Brannock device and wear most sneakers in 11.5 as well and ice boots in 45.5 (which is technically 11.66).  I have Masais in size 11 (love them) and had the Oasi in size 10.5, but had to sell it as it was a bit too tight and caused toe pain. I am planning on getting them again in 11 when I find a good deal.

For reference, I wear Solutions in a 43.5, Miuras in a 43 or 43.5, and Scarpa Instinct V in a 44.5.

I also am unable to try on climbing shoes ( noone stocks size 13 stuff in Ohio).  So I always end up ordering 3 pair and sending the other two back.  Tenaya is fine with this (as is every retailer I have dealt with) - it is a pain but the only other option is a trip to Colorado or somewhere to a very large retailer - and even then I usualy have very limited choices in my size.   Good luck!

Anyone have sizing input on the Tarifa?  I wear a size 43 mythos and size 44 in Anasazi pinks.  Thanks!

I wear a 41.5 in katana laces/Katakis and a 42 in Tarifas. I might try a 41.5 in tarifas next, though.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
