How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?....

The Wall- it would be a crag that pays homage to the greatest band ever Pink Floyd. It would be divided up into two sections like the album part one and part two. Then the routes would be named according to the tracks in part one and part two. I would develop this if I were better at it. I tried to clean and develop a couple routes with no success. Mad props to those who can. Just food for thought.

Also it's my opinion that the post Pink Floyd( without Rodger Waters ) was just as good if not better in some ways that the original Floyd. Some of my friends disagree. I'm not saying that they WERE Pink Floyd but still a great band. Also when Gilmour and Water split up on their own it really showed how the band is only talented as a group. That's my 2 cents...

The big question is: does listening to The Wall make u a better trad leader?

Listining to The Wall won't make you a better TRAD climber, but listining to The Dark Side of the Moon loud, and in the dark by youself will.

Good thing were all entitled to our own opinions...

I was really just trying to compare the original Pink Floyd to the various members that went solo, besides the albums speak for themselves.

The Dark Side transcends all age groups. The Wall not so much.

Huge Floyd fan for years, I really liked Gilmore's first solo album but when he tried to do Floyd songs with out Waters it didn't come off right. If you can't sing in the right key at least hire someone who can.

You're right, check it out here. But they're not strictly Floyd tracks, ugh, even ABBA is on The Wall ...

Nice thanks for the link to IC. I will check it out next time I'm there.

It's true, Rodger Waters is the only person who can sing like Rodger Waters. David Gilmour comes close but he dosn't have quite the same passion in his voice. I've seen Rodger live about 8 years ago and he's definitely showing signs of aging. Where as Gilmour is still sounding/playing like the old days.

Tried naming the routes on my outdoor climbing wall by PFloyd names once,,,2main sides with different titles. Back in mid 90's. We still call the whole structure The Wall for the most part.(Also Kansas had a rockin' song of same name) Routes have changes since, thus so has the naming idea here. Now they are known by how much rot is on the wood for each section.

What is it about some people calling others stupid if they happen to like different things or have a different opinion? Kinda same as fat people calling sport enthusiasts crazy or boring people calling free spirits nutty? Ha!

Let's face it...Waters PF is hard to beat, but The Wall, even though a true classic, was an ego-fueled, self-indulgent Waters project that the rest of the band has admitted to despising for many reasons. Doesn't even come close to DSOTM, WYWH, or Meddle IMO. Then again, I love Animals...another Waters-fest. Gilmour's sonic mastery on Animals is amazing.

Bottom line, if I wanted to hear live Floyd by either Gilmour's "new" Floyd, or Waters solo, I'd pick Gilmour without question. That said, now that Wright is dead, none of it matters anymore.

Best album "WORKS" period!!!!

Dark side and the wall no comparison.

You don't listen to The Wall straight through full blast over and over and over again throughout your life intoxicated or sober. Cant say the same for the wall.

Don't listen to Floyd much anymore but on the right system i am sure i could easily trip to dark side all the way through sober...

Dark Side is hands down Floyds best album. Both musically and lyrically it's far superior( in my opinion ). I listen to that front to back once a month on my NICE stereo at home, which is two channel, how music of that era is ment to be listened to. My second favorite is Live in Pompeii which is a great showcase of their earlier work. It also shows how artistic they were even before their major albums. The Wall ranks further down on my list because though its the definition of a rock opera, isn't musically great. And thanks Chocula for agreeing with me on the original and new Floyd. Waters, though a great influence, didn't make or break the band.

dude, works was my first pf album, and it blew me away, free four was just a dark look into waters views on the record industry, and "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict" is probably the best track Floyd ever made.....kinda. ok, not really.

Meddle was and remains to be one of the finest examples of a band at it's tipping point while at their musical peak.
