I'm a frequent traveller to the area and I'm looking for a few local bouldering spots. Any info on anything near the Bryson City/ Deep Creek/ Wesser/ Mineral Springs or Roundhill areas would be much appreciated!

From NOC: hike up (north) on the AT to a couple of spots, you will know them when you see them. (About 10 minutes)

Pinnacle park in Sylva has some bouldering right off the trail, 5 minutes from the car.

Lots of potential at Clingmans dome, but you will have about 100 fat people smoking cigarettes watching you within minutes of donning your shoes and chalk bag. skip it.

Looks like there is some action on 107 near Cashiers, I keep noticing the boulders on my way to Laurel Knob and Panthertown, but never stopped. Now they appear on MP's site.

107 boulders are probably not the best to hit in the summer...completely exposed to the sun, directly next to the hot road and many of the boulders are overgrown with weeds right now (or at least as of a couple of weeks ago). Good rock quality and fun routes with plenty of air between you and your pad too...worth checking out, just not in the summer.

Anyone know where Beacon Heights is? I've seen it mentioned before and still can't figure out where it is.

Beacon Heights is right down the Parkway from Grandmothers Boulders and Grandfather Mountain, practically at the junction of Hwy 221 and the BRP. Good beginners spot with a tall featured wall as the main attraction. If you're in the Highcountry though, there are plenty of better boulders with a 30 minute drive of Beacon Heights. I think there's still some beta on RC.com

there are boulders galore here. 35.35136644127847, -83.56761876572553

sent a couple of hard intermediate problems. they flood the cave in the summer months for catfishing so go in the fall/winter.

The CCC has secured legal access to a boulder field about an hour from there. You need to be a CCC member to be able to get legal access if I'm not mistaken due to the limited parking that has been negotiated with a private land owner.

Also, many of the cliffs in the area have undocumented bouldering at the base depending on how much hiking you are willing to do. Just don't expect topos or anything like that.

Which boulders are you referencing Little Man?

I found this area in a kayak. There are probably quite a lot out there! I found a land marker that said it was national forest land.
