Parking space for vegabond near summit county?

Hello all,
I dislike even asking but I figured it might work.

We lost our place in WA to a fire in early June. We finished our season of work in in the national park and decided to become vegabonds instead of trying to rebuild our life for a bit.
That being said we are living out of our chevy cargo van and in summit county area for the winter season of ski/ice.

Curious if anyone knows of or has an open parking space at their residence for us? We are completely self sufficient and are only looking for something during the night (9ish pm - 7 am) and possibly a plugin for our van, drawing little to no power (just enough for a tiny space heater).
Unfortunately, due to our circumstances we don't have much to offer as far as financial compensation (20/30 bucks a month?) but are both caring people who would help out around the residence, with family (babysitting?), or rides to/from the mountain. Looking for anything around Silverthorne, Frisco, or Montezuma area. We also just want to meet some more outdoor peeps.

Apologies for writing a book for an explanation but wanted to provide some backdrop. Have been staying at frisco wal-mart. If you see us around, say hello!

Excellent! Thank you for the info. I have a catalytic heater for when not plugged in to AC power.

Just trying not to support the big wal-mart chains as best I can.
From what I have seen so far I'm guessing I'll be spending most my time at A-basin, it had a great feel and looked like tons of slack-country to be had.
Although from the looks of winter so far I'll probably be doing more ice climbing rather than skiing.

There's a trailhead on the other side of I-70 from Wal-Mart (Meadow Creek trailhead?)that's pretty secluded. Cross I-70, go through the roundabout, and leave the roundabout just before the I-70 westbound on ramp.

The north side of Fremont Pass has a few trailheads, but they tend not to be plowed in winter.

Breckenridge Rec Center and Silverthorne Rec Center are good options for a shower.

The Forest Service and the Summit County Sheriff's Department aren't too crazy about long term camping, so try not to get too established in one spot.

I've known some people that have spent the winter camping off the road on the way up to Zuma. Large campground on the right about halfway from keystone to zuma. If you're around climbing I live in dillon and am currently looking for more ice partners. 404-434-5139

Tiger Road half way between Frisco and Breck is where local law enforcement tells people to go camp if they catch them elsewhere. I'm not sure how far up what branch you will be able to drive in the winter.

Hope you have luck finding somewhere. The TH North of Highway you will probablly get harassed at. I parked there with my RV just for the day and had 5 different people tell me I couldn't camp there. Wasn't even planning on it, but you know Summit County, everybody got to tell you their opinion!!!

If you end up in Western CO you are welcome to park on my land for as many nights as you want. I'm 45 min to the Ouray Ice Park. 1:15 to Telluride, and 1:45 to Crested Butte. Have fun and good luck!!!

If I were you I would continue driving passed Summit County (expensive) and up the road to Buena Vista (lake county) for kick ass climbing near town and skiing at Monarch pass (cheaper). There a hot springs just outside of town too! There are many free camp grounds and because you are on the other side of the pass it stays a little warmer in winter. Enjoy!!

This is all great info, thank you everyone!

Unfortunately I'm stuck to around summit county for lift skiing (epic pass) since it was cheap. I believe if I could do it again I would have most likely just bought a season's pass to wolf creek and hung out there for the winter. Oh well, hindsight...

Monarch pass sounds great though, I'll check it out for some backcountry. I heard a rumor can overnight park in a-basin. But I'm guessing this has to be false?

No more overnight parking/camping at A-Basin. They closed that off a few years ago.

I parked/camped off Hwy 6 Loveland Pass a couple nights ago. It was the only spot on the west side of the pass and the gates to shut down the pass that didn't have a no parking sign. It was okay, a little loud though. I would do it again if I had to.

Andy, have you looked into any of the spots that people have mentioned? Do you recommend any?

Also,
Does anyone know of any spots on the West side of Vail Pass?
Thank you

I slept in the 'overlook' at the top of the pass the other day. But haven't found anything west of that.

Let me know if you come across anything -- and I'll do the same if I find something as well.

As the snow seems to be going elsewhere might be heading that way for more ice, myself.

Just stay off the county roads, local ordinance prohibits any camping directly off the road.  Breck might be a little tricky because you’ll be here during winter. Most of the camping areas up here are on old dirt roads that will be impassible for all winter. My recommendation is north of Silverthorne. Look for a trail head and try to move every couple days to avoid suspicion. Ute pass has a nice area but it’s pretty far.

In the mid-80’s in breck I knew folks who rented storage units big enough to hold their vans.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
