Mountaineering Near Boise, ID

I am planning to go to Boise in a couple of weeks to visit a friend and want to do some mountaineering while I am up there. I wanted to see if there are any routes that anyone would recommend that are within a couple hours of the area.

I was thinking the Sawtooth range. Also, if someone has climbed there in fall conditions could give me some beta on what to expect it would be greatly appreciated.

Im thinking class 3 (At most, Im taking my friend mountaineering for his first time, I dont want him to have some exposure, but not freak him out)

Borah. Highest peak in Id. We did the north colour a few years ago and descended the standard south route. The S route would give you what you are looking for.
