I was pulling on a steeply overhanging crimp and heard multiple "pops" in my hand (sounded like cracking your fingers but not at a joint, right in the middle palm/below the base of the fingers).
Making a fist and straightening out my hand both hurt pretty bad. I also get sharp pains that start at the base of my third finger and travel down my forearm if I put pressure on my third finger.
Has anyone had a similar injury to this? I searched around and couldn't find anything previously. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Sounds like you pulled one or more of the muscles responsible for articulating your middle finger, although it could also be a tendon thing. Pain in the forearm makes me think muscle, though, which is probably better as it's more likely to heal quickly and completely. Avoid further exercise for the moment, start icing it regularly, and I'd get to a good PT ASAP.
