Headed to Lake George: Roger's Rock, advice on boats

Hey guys,

I'm headed to Lake George to climb a few classics on Roger's Rock in a couple weeks and just wondered where is a good (economical) place to rent a small row boat/canoe/kayak or whatever for two people to get to the base of the routes. I've got a pickup truck so transporting the boat will be no issue, I'm just having trouble finding a place to rent a boat from where it wont cost me $300+.

Anyone else been to Lake George yet this season?

hey, not entirely sure where to rent a boat but you might be abel to get one at the actual campground that you launch from to get to the slab. ive herd of a way to hike into the cliff but its a pain. if you get shut down on getting a boat let me know and you can borrow my kayaks.

You could try just hitching a ride a the boatdock at the campground.

Everytime we've climbed at Roger's we were able to hitch a boatride in short order by just asking someone who is going out boating for the day.
We never had a problem.

Of course you would have to hike back.

Good luck,

AB

Thanks for the tips guys! Guess I called the wrong places then; $35/day is totally reasonable. Maybe Ill see some of you out there!

Lake George Kayak in Bolton rents kayaks or canoes for less than $50/day, and there's a private campground a few minutes north of the state campground that also rents canoes. If you google "canoe rental lake george" i'm sure you'll find something reasonable.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
