I have heard that there are a bunch of bolted routes in the Delmar area. I have also heard they are on private land. Does anyone know where they are, if they are any good, and how to contact the land-owner???

I've also heard there is rock around Troy, NY. Anyone know anything about that??

it's a little farther away than you were looking for but there is some bolted climbing in the kingston quarry. it's very stout climbing(the warm up routes there are hard .11s) but apparently it's good stone.

I don't know about Delmar, but I do know of some good stuff in the Caroga lake area. About 1& 1/2 hrs away. at least 4 crags come to mind all right in that area some stellar bouldering as well. Let me know if you want more info or even a tour. If you find these spots you are looking for let me know I'd be down to check them out.

P.S. also alot of stuff near saratoga

Interesting post...I have heard these rumors before as well. I guess a good place to start investigations would be the Thatcher State Park...

Lots of limestone cliffs...not sure if there is climbing there or not?

Yo Jut I have been to Thatcher and the rock quality is a little scketchy. If the park is open no climbing, but i heard rummers it was going to be one the state closed. Worth a closer look I guess lots more rock there than I've seen.

ps SURE you can't get out this weekend?
