I'm flying down to Vegas next week, and we can only bring so much for camping close to RR. I thought that maybe theres a good thriftstore in Vegas (or a campers rental shop) to get some things that we won't be able to bring down, like a cooler, chairs, cutting board, a gas stove (we'll probably bring ours.)
Any beta on this will be very much appreciated.

Closest to Red Rock:

Goodwill Superstore
6344 W. Sahara (Sahara & Torrey Pines)
(702) 214-2066
Open: Mon.-Sat. 9am-9pm; Sun. 10am-6pm

Savers
2620 S Decatur Blvd (Decatur & Sahara)
Las Vegas, NV 89102
(702) 220-4059

You could find a cooler, wobbly chairs, & cutting board at thrift stores, but the sad thing is, it can be cheaper at Walmart for new camp chairs, and a clean cutting board that someone didn't cut-up their cat on. Thrift stores tend to mark up stuff for their next 50%-off sales; not that there's anything wrong with that ; /
The only item you had mentioned that you may save money on by buying at a thrift store is a cooler. Re: campstoves- you have better chances of winning Megabucks than finding a working campstove at a thrift store in Vegas.

That said; I like these two stores I listed above. If anything, it'll be an entertaining experience to say the least. : )

I just came back from RR, and I went to the CVS on the left directly before you take the left hand turn onto Blue Diamond Road (driving from car rental center) and got a nice folding camp chair with the built in cup holders and included carry bag for 9.99. They have them by the Easter stuff. There are fancier ones that become loungers, but they cost more.

Have fun out there! Hope it's a little warmer and less windy than last weekend!

Julie went to Savers this week for some climbing pants and you know what ...prices have gone to the point where you might as well pay $1 or $2 more at WalMart or KMart and get new.

And I don't like to shop at either Wally world or K world, but I like being gouged even less.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
