I'm wondering how much these are going to stretch. 43.5 feels good out of the box, about what I want once it's broken in. 43 is tighter than I'd like. Also are you happy with them in general? Thanks

Mine opened up about a 1/4 size, and I wish I bought the Velcro. Other than that, happy with them.

Hey Zak, Looking at getting a pair, and I can't try them on. Have you worn Miura Laces, Cobras, Techno's or Moccassyms? What sizing comparisons can you make? Thanks a lot -Simon

I'm a US size 12 and got the largest size Vapors in velcro, 46 I think. Started out pretty tight and a tad uncomfy...and...still are after a number of months in the gym. Didn't stretch much at all for me.

When I was looking at the vapors I tried on a pair of Miura laces and thought 42 fit about right for me (though I hear they stretch so that might have ended up too big). I'm street shoe size 11 or 10.5. I'd agree that the stretch is minimal. I'm happy I went with the slightly larger size (heel slop not withstanding). I also wish I'd gone with the Velcro, as they seem to be hard on laces.

What do you mean "they seem to be hard on laces"? I typically prefer a lace shoe for its precision adjustment, why is the velcro better? I'm interested in purchasing these mostly for pushing my grade on granite, which means i'd like them to be workable in cracks - are they similarly downturned to the Miura Lace? or more like the Miura velcro? Thanks a lot for the responses guys

I had these for about a year and a half, until I replaced them with the Miura VS a few months ago. They didn't stretch much at all, and whatever stretch you find you can take up with the laces. The shoe is a fairly agressive route shoe but fairly non-agressive bouldering shoe that had a great edge but crappy heel. The shape of the shoe does focus a great deal of power through your big toe, though at the cost of power in the outside edge. All in all I would say a 7/10, since the rubber started to come away from the leather in places, and the leather in the heel finally split, making the shoes basically useless. As for using them in cracks I can only say that the midsole is a little softer then the toebox and the shape of the shoe doesn't seem like it would be conducive to twisting in cracks at all.

I bought size 45, the largest they make. They didn't stretch at all. I made a few modifications. Still hurt like hell. I don't use them at all and would sell them for cheap. They performed really well while I could stand the pain.
