Rock hard Bruise - Calcium Deposits
|
I got a bruise on my palm on a climbing trip over Thanksgiving. Climbed on it a week straight after it happened, a few days were just crack climbing (real smart I know); but it did not bruise until I got home a week after it happened. Then climbed another week on it before X-mas. |

Ankles and fingers. They don't seem to go away very well. I actually had 3 removed from my left ankle during a scope. |

It sounds like it could be a ganglion cyst, or a calcium deposit. You might get it checked out by a doctor to find out for sure. Often ganglion cysts go away on their own, or 'pop' and drain when you're moving a bookcase or something heavy. I wouldn't suggest surgically removing it unless it's really bothering you. If it's a calcium deposit, that can be broken up over time by deep tissue massage/ultrasound. Best of luck. |

I have heard (not confirmed) that they can come back over time. They can come back over time. My friend has them growing in his right shoulderblade.he had them surgically removed a little over a year and a half ago. He is going in on the 26th to get it removed again. |

Thanks for the input. Right now deep tissue massage and ice is making it go away.I hope. It can't heal till the swelling goes down. Just like with trauma. |

If it turns out to be a ganglion cyst, you can always try the 'thumping" removal method: |

could also be miositis ossificans.. which is a calcium build up from a contusion. |
