Climbing Video Game!?

Yeah that's been around for a while. Problem is, it's almost as lame as bouldering in real life. I think there's potential for a good climbing video game but it would have to focus less on the actual climbing. The Tony Hawk games were fun because they weren't too concerned with how you preform a kickflip, it's all about exploring the level and finding ways to link up rails and gaps and stuff into huge combos. |

You guys clearly don't remember the awesome rockclimbing levels of the American Gladiators video game for NES. |

I think a climbing game should be like that, where you're free to explore a crag or peak and pick out the lines, then bag an ascent using special moves like tyrolean traverses and king swings. Shotgunning a Cobra would restore half your life bar. A box of wine would restore full health. Pick up biners or poot that other parties bailed off of and you get more points. More points = more womens to take up El Cap for bonus rounds on a portaledge. But drop the rack and it's game over. I think that would be a more authentic climbing experience than just memorizing a sequence of arrow keys.fuckin A +29 1/2 |
