Hand Antiperspirant or other suggestions. Help! Sweaty Hands!

One of my climbing partners asked me to find out if the MP community had any solutions to his excessively sweaty hands. I know I have seen threads before about this subject but a bit of searching brought up nothing. |

I've heard of people with "your friend's" problem having surgery to inhibit the sweat glands in their hands. I think there was an article in one of the climbign mags about it a few years back. |

I have used some stuff called Tite-Grip. It worked very well even in the desert in the summer... |

Needs just a little more beer in the diet. Works for me! |

liquid chalk |

Mono- Should have seen that one coming... Yea we found some info on that. Hoping to avoid that option. |

I heard of a prescription for one climber I know. He has to put it on the night before and I helps him out a ton! |

I know I have seen threads before about this subject but a bit of searching brought up nothing. Basically chalk is almost silly for him. He chalks up, grabs the starting hold, makes one move, and the starting hold is soaking wet and his hand is chalkless. If we are working a climb with him, we spend a bunch of time drying the holds after his burns. Do you guys have any solutions? Has anyone tried something like this stuff? ghostgrip.com/ It says non sticky. Does that mean non greasy? What do gymnasts do? He can literally make sweat pool in his hands, so I don't want to hear that chalk is a crutch or that you can just wipe your hands on your pants. He cannot. Thanks for any input. NikolaiThere is several things that can be done. Read about Hyperhidrosis, lot's of articles it. There is a surgery where they snip a nerve in your back that shuts off your sweat glands in your hands, Botox is another popular solution (yes, it does more than remove wrinkles, it's a nerve inhibitor), and topical solutions. I used something called Drysol for the longest time and had pretty good results with it. google.com/search?q=hyperhi… |

I've never tried it, but I've meet some climbers who use Witch Hazel. It's a natural astringent, and available in most drug stores. Maybe worth a try? |
