Alderfer/Three Sisters Park - Suitable for kids?

Stumbled across this area in the database and was wondering if the Three Sisters area would be a suitable place to take the kids (5-7yo) for some easy Class 4/5.easy) roped climbing. I'm looking for easy approaches and TR setups. I like the fact that it's close, but have never been there.

I haven't done the expanse of the park, but about 10 minutes from the main parking lot there is a mini-crag about 20' high with bolts at the top. Holds aren't huge, but to little hands they will be perfect. In addition there is alot of pretty small boulders around that would be fantastic for them to "boulder". Too small for us, but perfect for the tykes.

Thanks Scott...that's exactly what I was looking for. Is this mini-crag that you mention easy to spot off the main trail?

Yep. It was either the hidden fawn or sisters trail, 1st lot. Hike about 10-15 minutes up and it will be the 1st section of bouldering that you'll find on the right hand side, near some revegatation signs. The bolts are accessible from the top (just scramble behind). You shouldn't be able to miss it as it's wider than it is tall. It's listed in the Colorado Bouldering Book.

Yeah the mini-crag is right off of the Hidden Fawn Trail on the way to these boulders: mountainproject.com/v/color…

You will see this cliff a little before these boulders and very obvious.

Bump for additional info...

Took a hike up to TSP this past weekend to scout out more climbs for my kids and noticed a vertical, ~40-50' high wall that looked like it may offer some decent TR options (see Google Earth photo below). So I scrambled to the top of the formation and it seems there are enough natural features such as horns, tunnels, and some cracks to rig various TR anchors along the top.

Has anyone here ever climbed this rock? It didn't look like it saw much (if any) traffic, but the height and steepness caught my eye.

Thanks!
