I'm always partial to our local brewery, Glenwood Canyon Brewpub in Glenwood Springs. Always a good place for a beer and burger after climbing in the canyon. And, you can get a 40 pint keg for about $50 making it a great way to throw a party.

Ska Brewing Company from Durango is pretty good, I just drank several Steel Toe Stouts last night and think it is a great milk stout - check it out if you've not.

Sadly, the best one is long gone. The one in Silver Plume had the best black rasberry porter ever. Colorado Breweries History: Silver Plume Brewing Silver Plume Brewing Company is located in the mountain community of Silver Plume on Interstate 70 west of Denver. Silver Plume produces an amber ale and pilsner and brew called Terrible Ale. The latter, a red ale, is named for a nearby mine, not the condition of the brew. A raspberry porter was brewed for the holidays. Silver plume stared out brewing their own brew but at some point went to Broadway Brewing to have their beer contract brewed. Silver Plume Brewing closed in 1997

I don't know what the status of the "Idle Spur" brewery is but their Red Lady red is(was?) one of the best reds I have ever had. Really nicely hopped, fit somewhere between a Pilsner and an IPA. Anyone shed some light on this or know where I can get some in the Denver area if it is still around? On a side note, a lot of houses in CB have hops growing as part of their landscape, it seems to grow really well up there.

I wouldn't call Grand Junction a "mountain town" but Kannah Creek Brewery has some great beers and their food is top notch too.

The ska brewery "pin stripe" is very similar to the CB "red lady". Good stuff, I will have to try more of their brews.

I like Mahogany Ridge in Steamboat. They have good brews as well as live music at their restaurant/bar. I also like the Dillon Dam brewery, again good beer and live music. Both places also serve very good food. I can't leave out my favorite hometown brewery the Golden City Brewery here in Golden (Golden's second largest brewery!). Very laid back atmosphere, essentially it is an outdoor beer garden. You can even bring dogs before 4pm.

Any way this thread I stated I am really looking for Colorado brewery's. The people I am taking on a mountain beer tour are coming to Colorado . Thanks and keep the suggestions coming

Rosies in Leadville as great atmosshpere but all they brew is training wheel beer. Which is too bad for me, just I just built a house in Twin lakes. So I have to drive all the way to Salida for my local IPA fix. Amicas as a very good IPA, but the best beer in a Colorado mountain town is The Steamworks in Durango. Their Conductor IPA is awesome, and their Imperial IPA is to die for. SKA's Decadent is also one of my favorite beers. While Oregon is the micro brew capitol of the USA, the best beer comes from the San Diego area. The Stone and Port brewing co's are among the best in the history of human kind.

Here are a few more for the San Juans. Ridgway - Colorado Boy - Fairly new but great deals on Growlers, and good selection. Dolores Brewery - Great bear and food. I actually prefer it over the infamous Four Peaks here in AZ. If if you want some great Prime Rib - head across the street to one of the best dive bars around. The Hollywood. Ouray - also has a brewery now, but I have yet to try it out. Smugglers - in Telluride also a great place for beers.
