Rattlesnake mountain in Holderness
|
Today I went hiking on Rattlesnake Mountain in Holderness I believe, this is the one that over looks Squam Lake. I walked down to have a look at the slabs, and on the left side (as looking from the top of the mountain) there is a short section of vertical wall and I was surprised to see three or four bolted routes, all about four or five bolts long, some has pins and there was one located under and intimidating looking roof. I was wondering if anyone know anything about these route, are there anchors? How hard? or any information that is out there. |

Hey Matt, |

At least some, maybe all put up by Matt Gray in mid '90's. Matt was an employee with Rockywold Deephaven Camps at the base of Rattlesnake Mtn., on Squam Lake. |

Matt recently sent me this e-mail. |

FWIW: I tried the routes a couple years ago and assume they're in the 5.11 range. |
