Hey there. We want to avoid the REI bullshit and support local climbing shops. We have about a day, and then its off to REI if no shop. I have searched the web quite a bit, but not yet found a local shop.

Any suggestions?

We wil be coming down from Redding by way of I-5, so anywhere beween Redding and Yosemite/Touloumne would be great.

Thanks.

I'm no local, but the Mountain Shop in Curry Village in Yosemite Valley has just about everything under the sun.

or call 'em (209) 372-8396

It's the obvious (and pretty much only) store in Curry Village, minutes from the Captain.

Why not try the Hermit's Hut in Redding? They are a small but really cool local shop with tons of local beta - support the small shops!

Further south try Granite Chief or Back Country in Truckee. A little out of the way perhaps, but the cragging around Lake Tahoe is suberb and well worth a detour.

Thanx folks-

Didnt get the info in time, and went the REI route and bought an abundance of guides, with returnability points on the ones we dont use.....

Cheers
