Yeah, this year has a lot of people worried. On the Kenai Peninsula, the Pinks barely showed up (the run on even numbered years is usually about 1 million fish in river), and even more disturbing, the second run of silvers was only about 20% of what it normally is. 

So far I've only explored the Kenai Peninsula, but there's a lot. I've found virtually every good shore spot on the Kenai River, including the Upper, Middle, and even Lower River, and I've spent a lot of time exploring the tribuataries and many other creeks/rivers. My wife and I love stillwater fishing, and we've discovered many lakes (both roadside and backcountry) with great fishing for rainbows and grayling, where we've rarely even seen another angler.

More than once for sure. All the water for the meadows is sourced from there

Wow Pete that’s quite a large fish. I never thought of going to Mongolia to go fishing. Nice.

Never a chance of a golden on the Dana fork so for that creek, it would be a grand slam.

I don't believe there are any goldens left in Tuolumne.  It used to be mostly brookies but those have been mostly displaced with brown trout now that the summer temps get so warm.  Goldens are easy to get to out of Lone Pine though.

Also, that Taimen is pretty small compared to how large of ones they do catch. Still is a beautiful fish and I'm sure was fun to catch.

Doesn’t really count as Tuolumne, but you can catch goldens at conness lake and Odell near saddlebag for the slam.

Gil netted out of most of the lakes, certainly non in the Dana fork but as iv known it the grand slam is all the trout species in California in a day. a cut, golden, bow , brown and brook 

It’s been a while since any posts on this great thread so I will post this Wind River Brook trout fry picture so we remember summer in the Wind River Mtns is only 4 months away.

Speaking of Wind River, I caught these chonks on it just last weekend. It’s starting to feel like spring, although I'm sure the next blizzard will hit soon enough...
