It is good to see all the interest in Acopa shoes, and at the same time hard to see signs of decline from a company that has been supplying outstanding shoes for years to us north-of-the-border members of the climbing community. I had no trouble ordering a pair of Aztecs when the sale was announced in December. Delivery time normal. No response yet to inquiries about future availability of size 9.5 Merlins. I risk delusional optimism daily and hope that the company solves the delaminating issue (generally slight and, as Ross said, at the tip of the shoe and which I found to be mostly cosmetic) and soon returns to their former level of high quality customer service. I’ve used Barge cement, a razor blade, and glove leather to “optimize” my Acopas and keep my feet happy. A small price to pay for shoes that have always been a pleasure to climb in.

I never got any answers for when my shoes would ship, but I got an unprompted refund. I was excited for the sale on the Gamas but I guess I'll get one of my pairs of shoes resoled instead

Has anyone had any luck making contact with them.  I had a pair of shoes delivered back on 11/20 where they sent the wrong size ordered.  It took many emails until after Christmas before they finally responded with a return label.  They were delivered back to them on 1/2 and no refund has been given and they have not responded to any emails.  Hoping I'm just not out 200 bucks.

Like everyone said its really a shame since the quality of the shoes seemed to be really good.

I ordered a pair of shoes mid-December, haven't received them :(. I sent an email on Jan 30th asking for a status update and haven't heard a response. I hope it doesn't come to it, because I'm psyched on the shoes, but I might have to resort to disputing the charge with my bank.

I ordered shoes in mid January, and I never received a shipping confirmation. I've emailed several times and attempted to contact through support on their site and have not heard anything back. I just requested a refund.

Same, ordered early January when they announced the sale, no word since. I'm going to keep my order open in the hopes it comes through, but it's not seeming likely.

Update: T Shirt has been shipped separately arriving on the 20th

I ordered a pair of B3s in 8.5 and a medium unisex t- shirt Jan 9th.

I was a little worried after 2 weeks and hearing rumors of delays as well as reading this thread. I  Sent 3 emails and didn't receive a reply.

Today Feb 9th at 5:14 pm I  received a notification that the shoes shipped along with a USPS tracking number.

I really hope this is just a reorganization of sorts and they sort out the communication as well as the shipping times, I really love their shoes.

Hopefully this helps shed light for some of you.

Just got a shipping notification for one of the pairs of shoes I ordered in early January. Bummer it's been so slow but I'm glad they're coming.

Interesting to hear that people are getting orders. I placed on order October 26th and have not received it yet. I’ve reached out many times with no response and I am currently trying to issue a chargeback through my credit card company, but I may have missed the deadline. I’m pretty upset as it was expensive and meant to be a special gift and I feel like my money has been stolen. Does anyone have any other contact info or ideas for how I can reach them?

I ordered a pair of Legends on March 1st, got confirmation on the 2nd and usps tracking says it will be here on the 8th.

No complaints here. Love the shoes and hope this isn't the last pair I can get from them.

It seems like they've undergone a pretty serious shift in their business, and people who placed orders before then (December ish) have been not getting them, and people who placed after have had more success, albeit slowly.

When they said they were starting a batch business, my guess is that they are accruing orders of single types of shoe, making them all at once, then shipping them out.

No idea why this should come with even worse responsiveness to emails, they've always been slow but not like this.

So basically Acopa USA is the equivalent of Temu. Minus the communication and reliability.

If they makes shoes on demand it will be a nightmare for both the factory and the consumers. Hard to believe that a shoe factory would agree to do that.

My impression was that they are just liquidating the inventory and going out of business.

The shoes are still shipping out of some unknown warehouse or storage facility in the Santee area near San Diego. At least that is where mine came from, the return address is a UPS store in Santee. So I assume they are pulling from that inventory for shoes. However the T-shirt I got included a packing slip saying it was a manufactured on demand product and it had a Texas return address associated with it.

I gave up hope and filed a claim through my bank against Acopa. The claim was denied and I received a shipment confirmation email and a tracking number (4 months after placing my order). Hopefully the shoes are nice!

They make nice shoes, no worries there.

I’m trying to get a pair of mine resoled. Their “Factory Service” tab just 404’s out on the American website. I’m wondering if it would be fine to resole them through the Mexican site?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Shoes still have that glue problem some people have mentioned - got 2, Aztecs and Merlins, both right shoe only, that delaminated pretty fast.  I just went to my normal cobbler, he resoled them, and put stealth c4 rubber on them. Admittedly it was frustrating they went bad so fast, but they’ve also become my favorite shoes sooo I also got backups of each and will just deal with it again.

But yeah, haven’t gone to them for a factory resole, but got them with stealth c4 rubber and that’s felt great. Hope they manage to get their operations and manufacturing sorted out.

Got mine resoled through them long ago. Took a long time even then and I decided to never try that again. I couldn't imagine giving it another shot now given how slow things have gotten.

Dang. I’ve had three pairs and no delaminating issues yet. I live in a cold climate so maybe that’s it? Although I had a pair out for a trip in RR and still no issues

Okay, I always thought good resoles counted on having access to the lasts used to build the shoe and figured since they were a small company that there wasn’t going to be any cobblers that would have it.

Who did you use if you don’t mind me asking? I normally just use Rock and Resole.

Jay at Backcountry Cobblers does a great job, I alternate between him and Positive and they both do just fine. I tend towards flatter lasted shoes, so that may make it easier, but the more aggressive shoes I've had resoled also turned out well. It's redoing the rands that really changes the shape.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
